DMI COPIE Workshop: 'Strategic planning and the sustainability of MFIs in the European Union'

There are various paths to growth and sustainability across microfinance providers in Europe moving their business models towards viability, financial self-sufficiency and sustainability, in other words, minimizing dependency on traditional “fund-raising” like government or charitable foundation grants.

The workshop will present the efficacy of these efforts in order to disseminate good practices and highlight problem areas so that the industry as whole can benefit, including case studies of specific organizations.

A specific focus will be put on the EU Jasmine initiative as well as the European Progress Microfinance Facility to explore how MFIs can take advantage of these programmes in their efforts to foster sustainability, especially with regards to product development and outreach to (new) target groups.
